Details of this tour
Without any exhaustion and special walking shoes, you will get to know one of the most impressive landscapes of Saxony – the Elbe River Sandstone formations. These were formed some 100 million years ago. First you will view the fortress of Koenigstein with buildings dating from 4 different centuries.

Wonderful views, as well as details of

  • an almost unbelievable story of the capture of the fortress
  • the consequences of a promise that was not kept
  • the largest wine barrel of the 18th century.

These will without doubt fascinate you.

Afterwards you will view the impressive rock formations of the “Bastei”. From the “Bastei” you will have a breathtaking view of the Elbe River valley, with the fortress of Koenigstein in the background. A walk on a stone-bridge between rock formations will make the tour perfect. A lunch break could be organized in a restaurant with a nice view. However, you can also go to any restaurant of your liking.
